Life & Death

Did anyone read about the death of the three UTAR students ? I feel so sad for their family members & friends. Imagine, if someone close to you died, be it your family member or friend. I'm not just talking about close friends. I'm also talking about casual friends whom you talk to occasionally & share a joke with. IDK, man. Reading James Khor's blog almost made me cry. He was wonderful. Knowing that he was just so young & loved to do things young people do, it sort of makes you think of how you would feel if you friend died because he's about our age & we do know friends who are his age. It's really so tragic. Losing a friend you probably lent your notes to, a friend your shared food with, a friend you told your secrets to, a friend whom you called late at night because you felt bored, a friend who lent you his/her shoulder to cry on, a friend who believed in you at times when other people doubted you, a friend who helped you open bottle caps you could neve open, a friend who entertained you with funny faces, a friend who never failed to make you laugh at times when you felt down. It really hits you, you know. Death is inevitable, but why are people always in deep shock whenever it happens ? I guess life really is like this. People come & go. I also read about this 23-year old guy from Taiwan who had this 'living funeral' for himself. He was still alive, but he knew he was going to die soon, from an incurable & rare heart disease. He said something like, life isn't measured by how long you lived throught it, but what you're done when you lived. He said he had written a book & got a degree, he was happy. Easy come, easy go. Sounds easy, but in truth, it's even harder than the hardest of examinations in the world. The death of a close relative/friend is never easy. It takes really long for one to accept that he/she is already gone. & knowing that you can never pick up the phone to call or hear their voices anymore makes it worse. My condolences go out to the family members & friends of the 3 UTAR students out there.
